Power Music installation

To install Power Music, please read the following information first.

IMPORTANT NOTES

This is the current version of Power Music - version 2. Lots of new features have been added. Without a valid product licence key it will operate as a trial version. The trial version is the same as the full version but will only allow you to add up to 5 songs. No backup/restore or import/export is available. Entering a product licence key enables all features.

If you are downloading this version as an update it is advisable to make a backup of your database prior to installation.

The following prerequisites are required:

• .NET Framework 2.0
• SQL Server 2005 Express Edition

If these components are not already installed, they will be downloaded and installed from the Microsoft web site during installation.

To download Power Music (PMInstall.exe) click on the button below and press Save when prompted. Once downloaded, double-click on the downloaded PMInstall.exe - this is a self-extracting zip file which will prompt you for a location to save the extracted files. (Do not save to a network location as you may not be able to run the installation from there. Save to a local folder on your PC.) The installation will then automatically begin.

Please ensure you remain connected to the Internet during installation.

*WARNING* to existing users

This is a new version of Power Music (version 2). If you are downloading this as an update to a previous version, you MUST make a backup first (from File>Backup in Power Music), or export the songs you want to keep. After you have installed this new version, perform a restore or import to reload your songs into the new database if they have been over-written.

Please download the correct version for your operating system:
Don't know whether you have 32-bit or 64-bit?
If you have Windows XP - Go to Start, right-click on My Computer. On the General tab the operating system is displayed as follows:

• For a 64-bit version operating system: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version < Year> appears under System.
• For a 32-bit version operating system: Windows XP Professional Version appears under System.

• For a 64-bit version operating system: 64-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.
• For a 32-bit version operating system: 32-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.

Can't download exe files?
If your browser or host does not allow you to download exe files then download the .zip version, extract all files to your hard drive and run setup.exe
